Research

I build mathematical models to augment experimental and clinical data. Models I have built are studied using a variety of mathematical, computational and statistical techniques including singular-perturbation methods, bifurcation theory and numerical methods in order to elucidate the physiological mechanisms that underlie biological processes.

I am particularly interested is in understanding the causes and modulators of cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases. I love working closely with biologists and want the models we produce to be able to make useful (and valid) predictions. I am therefore very interested in how we infer model parameters and assess model uncertainty.
